The Department for Computational Linguistics of the Heinrich Heine
University Duesseldorf, Germany, invites applications for a PhD
position (German scale TV-L E13 65%).

The position starts in January 2016 and ends in June 2019. The
candidate will pursue a PhD project in the project A02 "Argument
linking and extended locality. A frame-based implementation" of the
Collaborative Research Center CRC 991 (head of the project:
Prof. Dr. Laura Kallmeyer).
http://www.sfb991.uni-duesseldorf.de/en/a02/ Project A02 aims at
incorporating a frame-based theory of lexical semantics into an
architecture for a syntax-semantics interface based on Tree Adjoining
Grammars or related formalisms.

The candidate should be interested in theoretical language modeling at
the syntax-semantics interface, in grammar formalisms for the
syntax-semantics interface and in grammar implementation.

Knowledge of German is not a prerequisite.

The CRC 991 offers a rich and stimulating research environment: It is
a large collection of research projects that focusses on the structure
of representations in language, cognition and science with a
particular emphasis on frames and on lexical semantics.

The University seeks to advance the equality of men and women and
therefore emphatically encourages women to apply. In case of equal
qualification, preference will be given to people with disabilities.

Applications should include:
